Digital forensics is a scientific field that can help reveal and prove criminal acts through the analysis of electronic devices with the advantages of using digital forensics in handling cases, namely being efficient and effective in disclosing criminal cases in the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police. In the research conducted, the author has a main problem as a guide for discussion in the study, namely how the strength of the testimony of digital forensic expert witnesses in the investigation of criminal acts in the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police and what are the obstacles and obstacles in applying the strength of the testimony of digital forensic expert witnesses in criminal investigation in the area of ​​the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police. The research method carried out using this type of research is included in the observational research group with its descriptive analytical nature. the object of research, regarding the investigation of criminal acts in the area of ​​the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police. The location of the research carried out in the study was the Riau Regional Police. Primary data is material obtained from respondents, namely: DIT investigators. Riau Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Riau Regional Police Digital Forensic Expert and Riau Regional Police Digital Forensic Operator/Technician. Secondary data in the form of literature books, and journals as well as the internet. Tertiary legal material in the form of a dictionary of Indonesian law. Data analysis by drawing conclusions in this study is guided by the deductive method, namely the inference from general things to specific things. Examination through a digital forensics process at the forensic laboratory of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police, the investigator will ask for expert testimony regarding previously obtained digital evidence. After obtaining expert testimony, investigators will also ask for information from witnesses who have seen, heard or experienced directly the events suspected of being criminal acts of information and electronic transactions with inadequate equipment at DIT. Riau Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit and External Constraints.
