ABSTRACT Viola Khaige. 2022. The effect of demonstration technique toward students’ English vocabulary at the tenth grade of the SMAN 1 Tembilahan Hulu. Vocabulari is the important thing as a basic knowledge in learning English . The use of the demonstration technique gives students an opportunity to be active and helps each other in the teaching learning process of English. The objective of this research was to find out the effect of the demonstration technique toward students’ English vocabulary in the tenth grade of the SMAN 1Tembilahan Hulu in the academic year 2022/2023. This research was conducted by using an experimental research design with pre-test and post-test. Data was obtained by giving pre-test and post-test to the students at the grade tenth ( X IPA 5 as experimental class and X IPA 4 as control class). The test consisted of 20 questions from four indicators. The researcher analyzed the data using SPSS to know the Validity, Reliability, Normality, Homogeneity, and Hypothesis. Based on analyzed data by SPSS, the data show that for validity all of the tests were valid because r_O?r_t (0.519 ? 0.333), and then the data show that reliable because they have a Cronbach alpha 0.786 (Cronbach alpha ? 0.6), for the normality test the data shows that all data groups are normally distributed because they have a sig ? 0.05value, for homogeneity the data was declared homogeneous because the sig value in pre-test and post-test ? 0.05, and then the finding of data hypothesis the wast to higher than tt (8.946>2.032 and sig
