Pengaruh Subkultur Jamur Entomopatogen Metarhizium Sp Terhadap Mortalitas Larva Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes Rhinoceros L)

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium sp. on spore quality and mortality rate in Oryctes rhinoceros L larvae. This research was carried out in the protection laboratory of the Marihat Oil Palm Research Center, Pematang Siantar for 5 months starting from October 2021 - February 2022. Laboratory research using a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of one factor, namely subculture, using 6 types of treatment, namely natural isolation of Metarhizium sp, first subculture, second subculture, third subculture, fourth subculture, fifth subculture. Each treatment consisted of 5 replications and each treatment was infected with 175 larvae of Oryctes rhinoceros L instar 2. The results of this study indicate that the subculture of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium sp. with the highest spore quality and larval mortality rate was found in the first subculture of the fungus Metarhizium sp. The best treatment of Metarhizium sp was able to control Oryctes rhinoceros L larvae with a death time of 2 days after infection and the mortality percentage reached 100% on the 4th day after infection.
