The Effect Of Using Animation Video On Writing Ability At The Third Year Students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya
Video animation medium is moving images media that is designed and capable of producing audio-visuals with the aim of conveying learning materials. Animation video is a video presentation of moving images to attract students’ attention to convey the materials. Problems of the research are: the students have a lack of vocabulary and the students feel bored when the learning process. So, by using the animation video the researcher wants to find out a significant effect in students’ writing ability. This research was an experimental research. It consist of two classes. The population of this research of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya, there are 4 classes. With the sample is the third year students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya. IX D as the experimental class and IX B as the control class. The researcher only choose two classes as experimental class and control class. The researcher used statistical analysis to find out the effect of using animation video on writing ability in report text at the third year students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya. The results of the research showed that there was a difference between IX D class after learning using animation video and class IX B without using animation video. It could be seen from the average of pretest of IX D is 66.77 and posttest is 80.44. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected. So, there is a significant effect of using animation video on writing ability in report text at the third year students of SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya.
