Pengaruh Urea dan Monosodium Glutamat (MSG) terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tanaman Cabai Rawit (Capsicum Frutescens L.)

Research entitled The Effect of Urea Fertilizer and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) on the Growth and Production of Cayenne Pepper Plants (Capsicum frutescens L.). This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University from November 2022 to March 2023. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the interaction of urea fertilizer and MSG on the growth and production of cayenne pepper plants. The design used in this research was a factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors, the first factor was the dose of urea fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0; 2.5; 5; 7.5 grams per polybag and the second factor was MSG consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 3, 6 and 9 grams per polybag, resulting in 16 treatment combinations with 3 repetitions, so there were 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, and number of remaining fruit. The data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at 5% level. The research results showed that the interaction of urea fertilizer and MSG had a real influence on plant height, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, and number of remaining fruit. The main effect of urea fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters, with the best treatment being a urea fertilizer dose of 7.5 grams per polybag. The main effect of MSG had a real influence on all observation parameters, with the best treatment being 9 grams per polybag.
