Analisis Geomorfologi Teknonik dan Skenario Gempa Bumi Kawasan Tapanuli Utara dan Sekitarnya

Aminullah Ritongah - Personal Name; Catur Cahayaningsih - Personal Name;

The dominance of the Indian Ocean Plate and the Eurasian Plate caused the deformation of Sumatra, resulting in the most devastating earthquake and tsunami ever occurred on this earth, namely on December 26, 2004. However, until now there is no Seimity Map, Earthquake Scenario Map and Tectonic Geomorphological Map on Sumatra Island in general and North Sumatra in particular. This is the author's main motivation to provide useful and easy-to-understand information related to tectonic developments (seismicity, scenarios, tectonic geomorphology) of earthquakes, in North Tapanuli, North Sumatra. The research method used is secondary data (Geomapapp) combined with primary data obtained from taking geological data of geomorphological structures in the field (processed using ArcGIS). Then proceed to calculate the Moment Magnitude of the earthquake using the derivative of several formulas. The result of this calculation is projected to be a rupture patch on the earthquake scenario map. The results of the study concluded that the dominance of the type of fault in the study area was the dextral shear fault. The moment magnitude of the largest earthquake in the future is sourced from the Pargumbang Fault, which is 7.1 Mw. While the smallest is sourced from the Hutanagodang Segment, which is 6.2 Mw. Based on tectonic geomorphology, the Padang Sidempuan Valley is the largest valley formed in the study area caused by the movement of two main faults, namely the Padang Sidempuan Fault (PsF) and the Pargumbang Fault (PF). Based on field evidence in the Tarutung area, a hot spring pool was found, which from this incident is one indication of a fault in the research area.
