Analisis Stilistik Ungkapan Pantang Larang Masyarakat Melayu di Desa Suangai Nibung Kecamatan Siak Kecil Kabupaten Bengkalis

The expression abstinence is a prohibition that will befall someone if they do it. The words used in tabang hara are usually related to frightening things, such as in the form of disease, disaster and the supernatural. This research has a goal; 1) To describe, analyze, interpret and conclude the meaning of the connotations contained in the expression abstinence and prohibition in the community in Sungai Nibung Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency. 2) To describe, analyze, interpret and conclude the diction contained in the expression abstinence and prohibition in the community in Sungai Nibung Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency. Problems in this research: 1) What is the meaning of the connotation contained in the expression abstinence and prohibition in the people of Sungai Nibung Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency? The theories used in this research are Nurgiyantoro (2013), Chaer (2012), Keraf (1984), Tarigan (2019). The method the author uses is a descriptive ethnographic method. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that the expression abstinence and prohibition in Sungai Nibung Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency which is related to stylistics in the aspect of connotative meaning, contains 37 data, namely 28 data that have negative values and 9 data that have positive values. In the diction aspect there are 38 data, namely 37 data on the use of appropriate word choice and 1 data on the use of appropriate word choice. An example of taboos and taboos from the Malay community in Sungai Nibung Village is the connotative meaning of the expression "Don't put the spoon on the pado piok when cooking nasik, expect the child to be hard to come out when giving birth (don't put the spoon in the pot when cooking rice, then when the child is born it will be difficult to come out)". The expression abstinence and prohibition includes a positive connotation which means that when a pregnant mother places a spoon in a pot while cooking rice, it will cause difficulty for her child to come out when giving birth. Meanwhile, the diction in the expression "Don't eat pregnant people eating chili sauce while walking, wait for the child jaat (Don't pregnant people eat while walking, or the child will be fussy)." In the abstinence and prohibition expression, there is a general choice of words in terms of the use of the word eating, which is the activity of consuming food to provide a source of energy for living creatures.
