Analisis Karateristik Mineral Lempung Menggunakan Metode XRD dan Sem dalam Studi Kebencanaan Tanah Longsor di Jalan Lintas Riau Sumbar km 82-89, Desa Merangin, Kecamatan Kuok, Kabupaten Kampar, Provinsi riau
This research was carried out in Merangin Village on the Riau - West Sumatra route KM 82 – 89, Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Geographically located at100°48'21.36"E-100°51'31.99"E and 0°17'41.98"N- 0°20'5.34". The purpose of this research is to determine the properties of clay soil and its relationship to landslide events. The methods used are XRD, SEM and Atterberg Limit analysis. Based on XRD analysis, it is known that the distribution of clay minerals at station 1 is 30% Kaolinite, 35% Quartz and 35% Muskovite, at station 2 Kaolinite is 22%, Quartz 55% and Muscovite 27%, at station 3 Kaolinite is 39%, Quartz 61%. SEM analysis shows that the type of clay mineral Kaolinite has a shape like a thin sheet, Illite has a flat and elongated shape, Smectite has a shape like a thick sheet. Atterberg limit analysis at the top station 1 obtained a water content value of 34%, the bottom part obtained a water content of 27%, with a plastic index value of 11% at the top and 0% at the bottom, at station 2 the upper part obtained a water content value of 43 %, the lower part obtained a water content of 35%, with a plastic index value of 2% at the top and bottom, at station 3 the upper part obtained a water content value of 42%, at the bottom 34%, with a plastic index value for the upper part 9% and 2 % at the bottom, the three stations are of the Organic Clay (OL) type with the low plasticity category. The presence of the mineral Muscovite (smectite) influences the process of landslides, even with low plasticity in soil samples.
