Lia Ismayani - Personal Name; Boy Syamsul Bakhri - Personal Name;

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of the perception of the people of Pekanbaru who still bought or consumed food and beverages that were not yet halal-certified, even though Islam requires its followers to consume halal food and beverages. Therefore, the author wanted to investigate how the Muslim community perceives food and beverage products that are not yet halal-certified in the city of Pekanbaru. This research was descriptive, and the data used included primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to the Muslim community in Pekanbaru, while secondary data were obtained from books, journals, the internet, and other media. The analysis method used in this study was descriptive statistics, which involved presenting data in tables, graphs, pie charts, and percentages, followed by descriptions. The population in this study was 917,128 people, with a sample of 100 people. The results revealed that the internal factors in the perception of the Muslim community towards food and beverage products that were not yet halal-certified in Pekanbaru fell into the agreed category with a percentage of 41.16%. This indicated that the Muslim community was required to pay attention to the halal label on the packaging of products they bought or consumed. Regarding the indicator of external factors in the perception of the Muslim community towards food and beverage products that were not yet halal-certified in Pekanbaru, it was in the neutral category with a percentage of 50.58%. This showed that not all products sold in the market had halal labels, and there were still people who consumed food and beverages that were not yet halal-certified due to the lack of socialization regarding halal products.
