Tinjauan Kriminologi terhadap Pelaku Pencurian Sepeda Motor di Wilayah Hukum Polsek Sukajadi

Cases of motor vehicle theft crimes will not be avoided due to the fairly high growth rate of motorbike vehicles in the Sukajadi Police jurisdiction. Based on data obtained by the author from the Sukjadi Police, Pekanbaru City, it shows that the number of motorbike theft cases tends to increase. There are several cases of theft that have occurred in the legal area of the Sukajadi Police, Pekanbaru City in 2022-2023, where motorbike thefts are still frequent. . This theft case was carried out by perpetrators, both adults and teenagers. The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the factors that encourage perpetrators to commit motorbike theft and what are the efforts of the Sukajadi Police to deal with motorbike theft in the Sukajadi Police's jurisdiction. The type of legal research method that the researcher uses in this thesis research is empirical legal research, which in other words is sociological legal research where this research is carried out directly in the field. With the nature of the research, namely analytical descriptive. This method is used to see the legal reality that exists in society. The results of the research that the author found are that the factors that influence the occurrence of motorbike theft in the Sukajadi Police jurisdiction include economic factors, the absence of a permanent job, the pressure factor, the thief making theft his job, the perpetrator just trying because the existence of an opportunity to steal, social factors and environmental factors and efforts made to overcome the criminal act of theft of motorbikes in the Sukajadi Police jurisdiction, namely Providing advice to the local community around Sukajadi through bhabinkamtibmas, Providing education to the local community to protect privately owned motorbikes using double locks so as not to give perpetrators the opportunity to commit theft within the jurisdiction of the Sukajadi Police, Providing warnings and directions to parking attendants so they can guard motorbikes that are parked, and Expanding patrols and establishing good cooperative relations with RT/RW officials and the community . The repressive efforts are: taking the necessary action against the perpetrator in accordance with his actions and bringing order back, the Sukajadi Pekanbaru Police carrying out regular raids and on places or roads that are considered prone to criminal acts of motorbike theft, Carrying out arrests Optimizing the performance and function of Criminal Investigation by conducting investigations and investigating perpetrators of criminal acts of motorbike theft, as well as conducting an in-depth study of each type of motorbike theft.
