Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pengeluaran Rumah Tangga Petani Nenas di Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau

The food needs of pineapple farming households have increased due to the development of the times. The need for food is increasing because food prices tend to increase so that the expenditure of farming households is increasing. Simultaneous harvests can cause an abundance of pineapples so that the price of pineapples falls which can affect low income. Decreased income can affect household expenses. This research aims: (1), to analyze the characteristics of pineapple farmers. (2), analyzing the income and expenses of pineapple farmer households and (3), analyzing factors that influence the expenses of pineapple farmers in Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The research method is a survey method and was carried out in Sungai Apit District. This research was carried out from March to August 2023. The sampling method used a simple random sampling method with a total of 72 pineapple farmers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using multiple linear regression. The research findings are (1) pineapple farmers are of productive age. His education is low (did not finish junior high school). The number of family members is considered a small family. Farmer's experience is 5 years. The farmer's land area is 1.75 ha. (2), household income is obtained from pineapple farming, non-pineapple farming and non-farming income. Farming income provides a large contribution from other income. Household expenditure consists of food and non-food expenditure. The share of food expenditure is the largest expenditure compared to non-food. (3), factors that significantly influence household expenditure are income, number of family members and savings. Household income and number of family members have a positive effect, however, savings have a negative effect. Meanwhile, the wife's income and assets do not significantly influence the household expenses of pineapple farmers. This research recommends the importance of increasing household income in meeting household needs.
