Penerapan Metode Mind Mapping dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pembelajaran PAI di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 12 Pekanbaru

This study is motivated by the problem of students’ outcomes which are still low in learning Islamic Studies. The low student learning outcomes are proven by several students as many as 21 students, there were 8 students who had completed grades and 13 students who had not completed. It can be seen during the learning process previously which only applied the lecture method and focused on the teacher so that it made students feel bored and the learning process is still not optimal. Based on these problems, to improve students’ learning outcomes, variations and impementations of other methods are needed in order to improve students’ learning outcomes. The solution that can be done is by changing learning methods that are more attractive to students. One method that can be implemented is the Mind Mapping method. The problem formulation of the study: Can the Mind Mapping method improve the students’ learning outcomes of class VIII5 in learning Islamic Studies Subject? The aim of the study is to improve students’ learning outcomes by implementing Mind Mapping method in learning Islamic Studies of the lesson "Religious Tolerance". The type of the study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) through 2 cycles. The subject of the study consists of 21 students of class VIII5 at the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, and the object of the study is the implementation of Mind Mapping method. The instruments of the study are observation and tests. The analysis technique of the study is quantitative. The indicator for the success of the study is classically 80% and individually 80%. Based on the students’ learning results after implementing the mind mapping method in cycle I, 15 students achieved completeness with an average score of 71.4% and 6 students achieved incompleteness with an average score of 28.5%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the students’ learning outcomes increased, namely 19 students achieved completeness with an average score of 90.4% and 2 students did not complete with an average score of 9.5%. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of Mind Mapping method can improve students’ learning outcomes.
