Pengaruh Tambahan Filler Ampas Tebu pada Komposit Berpenguat Serat Kulit Jgung dengan Matrik Epoxy terhadap Kekuatan Mekanik
Composite is a combination of two or more materials that have different phases into a new material and has better properties. Composite is an alternative material to replace metal, this is due to the properties of fiber composites that are strong and have a lighter weight than metal. This study aims to determine the tensile and bending strength of a composite of corn husk fiber and bagasse powder. Natural fiber composites (corn husk and bagasse) need to be tested to find out how strong the mechanical strength of this composition is, especially in the various fractions of 10% corn husk fiber + 30% bagasse filler + 60% resin 20% corn husk fiber + 20% filler bagasse + 60% resin 30% corn husk fiber + 10% bagasse filler + 60% resin, specimen preparation and testing procedures used ASTM D3039 for tensile and ASTM D790-02 for bending. The results of the tensile and bending tests have differences. The highest tensile strength is the fiber fraction variant 30% corn husk fiber + 10% bagasse filler + 60% resin, which is a tensile value of 19.8 MPa, while the bending with the highest strength is the variation in the fiber fraction 10% corn husk fiber + 30 % bagasse filler + 60% resin with a yield of 31.75 N/mm2.
