Peran Guru Akidah Akhlak dalam Menanamkan Sikap Disiplin Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Masmur Pekanbaru
The aim of the study was to investigate the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in instilling students’ discipline attitude at Madrasah Aliyah Masmur Pekanbaru and to determine the inhibiting factors for Aqidah Akhlak teachers in instilling students’ discipline attitude at Madrasah Aliyah Masmur Pekanbaru. This was a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection techniques of the study were interview and documentation. The subject of the study was the Aqidah Akhlak teachers of MA Masmur Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, the object of the study was the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in instilling students’ discipline at MA Masmur Pekanbaru. Then, the technical data analysis was carried out by the stages of data reduction, data presentation (data display) and verification (data conclusion). The results of the study showed that: (1) the students’ discipline at MA Masmur Pekanbaru was still not optimal because there were several factors influenced by students, teachers and the family environment. (2) The role of the Aqidah Akhlak teachers in instilling students’ discipline attitude by: Teacher, Educator, Model (Example), Advisor and Leader. (3) Inhibiting factors and solutions in instilling a disciplinary attitude, namely: (1) Inhibiting Factors: a. Students, the influence of the social environment and the character of students which was difficult to control. b. Teachers, not all teachers realize the importance of discipline, c. Family, parents gave freedom to children, broken home families and parents were too busy working. (2) Solution: a. Always providing students with an understanding of the importance of having a disciplined attitude, b. Imposing educational sanctions/punishments, c. Implementing collaboration among fellow teachers, d. Establishing communication with students’ parents, and e. Memorizing or recognizing students’ names.
