Perbandingan Sifat Mekanik Penggunaan Agregat Kasar Batu Andesit dengan Batu Pasir pada Campuran Beton untuk Perkerasan Kaku
The use of regional names to identify aggregate materials in infrastructure construction has become a common practice. For example, terms like "Batu Pangkalan" or "Batu Bangkinang" are used to refer to aggregate materials used in construction. However, the problem is that using these regional names does not always reflect the actual quality of the material. In many cases, material taken from the same region but from different sources or quarries can have varying quality. To address the uncertainty in determining the quality of aggregate materials, this study proposes a more scientific approach by distinguishing aggregate materials based on their geological rock type. Two geological rock types used as references are sandstone and andesite. This study aims to determine the compressive strength of andesite rock compared to sandstone, to establish the optimum compressive strength values for concrete between andesite and sandstone materials. The method used in this study is an experimental method using cylindrical test specimens with dimensions (150 mm x 300 mm), which are tested at concrete ages of 7, 14, and 28 days with 3 samples for each material variation. Based on the research results, the 28-day compressive strength for sandstone is 11.69 MPa, while for andesite is 32.34 MPa. It can be concluded that the compressive strength of concrete with andesite material is relatively higher compared to sandstone.
