Peran Dinas Pendidikan dalam Mengatasi Anak Putus Sekolah (Studi Pada Kota Selatpanjang, Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi, Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti)

This study aims to detetmine and analyze the role of the meranti islands district education office in carrying out its main duties and functions as well as to determine the factors that cause children to drop out of school. The main problem in this research is the lack of interest of the family economy, and the garden of associantion. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data sources from interviews,observations and documentation. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the role of the Meranti Islands Regency Education Office is not yet maximal in carrying out its suties and functions because there are still children who are not in school and drop out of school. This is because the recorded number of children who are not in school and drop out of school in the high cliff sub-district is 38 children. Based on the research analysis and the obstacles found,the Meranti Islands District Education Office should continue to carry out socialization in order to increase public awareness about the imprortance of integrated cooperation education betweem the parties involved in emphasizing the number of children dropping out of school in a programmatic manner sunch as community leaders and parents.
