Acts of violence against children are not uncommon because they have an impact on victims, in this case it is necessary to prevent acts of violence against children. This study aims to analyze and explain the extent to which the Implementation of the Functions of the Special Protection Section for Children at the Women's Empowerment Service for Child Protection and Community Empowerment (DP3APM) in Pekanbaru City is in an effort to prevent acts of violence against children.As well as knowing the inhibiting factors in carrying out efforts to prevent acts of violence against children.The type of research used in this research is a descriptive survey with a quantitative method. with data collection techniques with questionnaires and descriptive data analysis. The population and sample of this study amounted to 38 using a census technique consisting of the Pekanbaru City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection and Community Empowerment Service (DP3APM), the Community and Elementary Schools in Pekanbaru City.And the number of respondents distributing questionnaires amounted to 36 respondents. In this study the Assessment Indicators used include Communication, Resources, Disposition and Bureaucratic Structure.Based on the analysis in this study, it can be concluded that the Implementation of the Functions of the Special Protection Section for Children at DP3APM Pekanbaru City has not been carried out optimally, as evidenced by the respondents' answers being categorized as quite implemented, the reason is because DP3APM has not carried out its function as preventing acts of violence, it has not run optimally because the socialization that has been carried out has not been running maximally.The inhibiting factor is the lack of socialization carried out by the DP3APM Pekanbaru City which is not comprehensive, the lack of DP3APM human resources, especially in the special protection section for children, budget constraints and the long process of preparing activities
