Penerapan Pasal 280 Undang-undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009 Tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan di Wilayah Hukum Polresta Pekanbaru

This research discusses how to implement Article 280 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, which in this article regulates the use of motorized vehicle registration plates. The use of motorized vehicle number signs is required to comply with the provisions regulated in Article 68 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. However, in the regulated provisions there are many problems where the regulations are separated and also the contents of the general provisions Due to the many separations of regulations and also the contents of provisions which are only of a general nature, therefore this research gave rise to a problem formulation, namely: First, how is the interpretation or of Article 280 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation according to the Police Pekanbaru City Resort Traffic. Second, what are the projections for the provisions regarding the use of motorized vehicle number signs in the future. In this research the author uses a type of empirical normative research in which the author uses normative legal case studies in the form of legal behavioral products and the nature of this research is analytical descriptive, namely describing or giving an overview of the object to be researched through data that has been collected as it is and then carrying out analysis and make conclusions that apply to the general public. This research takes several samples from the entire population which will later be used as a source of primary data and also secondary data. The data collection was carried out by the author using observation and interview methods. In drawing conclusions the author uses a deductive method which draws conclusions from general to specific matters. Based on the results of the research and discussion that the author found: First, the interpretation of Article 280 of Law Number 22 of 2009 according to the Pekanbaru City resort traffic police is that every motorized vehicle uses a motorized vehicle registration number that has been changed from the original form issued by the Manunggal Unit. One roof, then it is the driver who has violated Article 280 of Law Number 22 of 2009. Second, the projected regulation of provisions relating to the use of motorized vehicle registration plates in the future needs to be carried out with a total reformulation or overall renewal of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transport on the grounds that there are various supporting factors that many of the contents of Law Number 22 of 2009 are not relevant to the present, let alone the future.
